Privacy Policy
Effective August 8, 2026
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Uplevel collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use the Uplevel website, assessment, account, question bank, payment flow, support, and related services (the “Service”).
2. Information we collect
- Account information: email address, account status, and authentication records. Passwords are stored only as salted cryptographic hashes, not as readable passwords.
- Learning and usage information: assessment responses, scores, question progress, review flags, resume position, access status, page visits, referral host, campaign tags, button interactions, and timestamps.
- Transaction information: purchase plan, payment status, checkout and event identifiers, access dates, and limited billing metadata. Stripe processes card and wallet details; Uplevel does not store your full card number or card security code.
- Technical information: IP address, browser and device information, request timestamps, security events, and service logs needed to operate and protect the Service.
- Communications: information you send in support emails or other requests.
Google Sign-In: If you choose Google Sign-In, Google provides Uplevel with your verified email address and a unique Google account identifier. Uplevel uses and stores this information only to create or link your Uplevel account, sign you in, prevent duplicate accounts, and secure authentication. Uplevel does not receive your Google password. It does not access Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, contacts, or other Google services. Uplevel does not sell this information, use it for advertising, or share it except with service providers needed to operate and secure the Service as described in this Policy. You may request deletion by emailing support@uplevelengineering.com.
3. How we use information
Uplevel uses personal information to create and secure accounts; deliver and restore access; save progress and scores; process and verify purchases; send transactional account and support messages; understand how visitors find and use public pages; measure assessment and purchase funnels; prevent fraud and abuse; diagnose errors; maintain backups; improve the Service; comply with law; and respond to your requests.
4. Legal bases where applicable
Where a legal basis is required, Uplevel processes information to perform a contract with you, pursue legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, comply with legal obligations, and, where required, with your consent.
5. How information is disclosed
Uplevel may disclose information to service providers that process it on Uplevel’s behalf, including hosting and infrastructure providers, Mailjet for transactional email, and Stripe when payment features are active. Uplevel may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, in connection with a business transaction, or with your direction.
Uplevel does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Uplevel does not use third-party advertising trackers.
6. Cookies and local storage
Uplevel uses essential session cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, protect requests, preserve progress, remember necessary product state, and maintain first-party attribution during a visit. Uplevel records aggregate public-page and call-to-action events using its own session system. It does not use third-party advertising trackers or advertising cookies.
7. Retention
Uplevel retains account, learning, transaction, and support information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain business and security records, resolve disputes, and comply with law. Expired reset links and temporary security records are retained only as needed for security and operational integrity. Information may remain in protected backups until those backups rotate.
8. Security
Uplevel uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encrypted transport, hashed passwords, access controls, secure cookies in production, payment-provider isolation, and restricted backups. No system can guarantee absolute security.
9. Your choices and rights
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with your account, or ask questions about its use, by emailing support@uplevelengineering.com. Uplevel may verify your identity before completing a request and may retain information when required or permitted by law.
Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to know categories and specific pieces of personal information, correct inaccurate information, delete information, receive a portable copy, limit certain uses, or appeal a decision. Uplevel will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
10. Children
The Service is intended for people age 16 and older and is not directed to children under 16. Uplevel does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided information, contact support so it can be reviewed and deleted as appropriate.
11. International use
Uplevel operates from the United States. If you use the Service from another country, your information may be processed in the United States or other locations where service providers operate, subject to appropriate protections required by applicable law.
12. Changes and contact
Uplevel may update this Policy as the Service changes. Material changes will be posted with a new effective date and, when appropriate, communicated to account holders.
